Anti-Fraud & IVT Policy

LumoVibe Media maintains a zero-tolerance stance against fraudulent activity and invalid traffic. This policy outlines our detection methodology, classification standards, and enforcement procedures.

IVT Detection Methodology

LumoVibe Media employs a multi-layer approach to detecting and filtering Invalid Traffic (IVT), aligned with the Media Rating Council (MRC) Invalid Traffic Detection and Filtration Guidelines and the Trustworthy Accountability Group (TAG) standards.

Our detection methodology combines automated filtering systems, behavioral analysis, and third-party verification to identify traffic that does not represent legitimate human engagement with advertising content.

All traffic data is analyzed in real-time and in post-campaign review cycles to ensure comprehensive coverage against both known and emerging IVT patterns.

IVT Classification

Invalid Traffic is classified into two categories per MRC guidelines. Both categories are subject to filtering and may trigger clawback procedures.

General Invalid Traffic (GIVT)

Traffic identified through routine means of filtration, executed through application of lists or with other standardized parameter checks.

  • Known data center traffic
  • Bots and spiders identified via user-agent strings
  • Activity-based filtration (non-human patterns)
  • Known non-browser user-agent headers
  • Pre-fetch or browser pre-rendering traffic

Sophisticated Invalid Traffic (SIVT)

Traffic that requires advanced analytics, multi-point corroboration, and significant human intervention to identify.

  • Bot traffic designed to mimic human behavior
  • Hijacked devices, sessions, or ad tags
  • Adware and malware-generated traffic
  • Incentivized manipulation of measurements
  • Cookie stuffing and domain spoofing
  • Falsified viewability measurements

Clawback Policy

Revenue attributable to invalid traffic is subject to clawback. LumoVibe Media reserves the right to adjust, withhold, or recover revenue share payments when IVT is identified in a publisher's traffic.

When Clawbacks Apply

  • IVT detected by our internal filtering systems or third-party verification tools
  • Revenue adjustments received from upstream ad monetization partners due to traffic quality issues
  • Post-campaign audits revealing traffic anomalies inconsistent with legitimate user engagement
  • Publisher-sourced traffic failing to meet minimum quality thresholds defined in our Traffic Quality Standards

Clawback Timeline

Clawbacks may be applied at any point during the revenue settlement cycle. Specifically:

  • Pre-settlement: Revenue is adjusted before payment is issued to the publisher
  • Post-settlement: Previously paid revenue may be deducted from future payments if IVT is identified after settlement
  • Partner-initiated: Adjustments passed through from upstream partners are applied as received, regardless of prior settlement status

Zero Tolerance Policy

LumoVibe Media maintains a zero-tolerance policy against all forms of fraud, including but not limited to:

  • Bot traffic generation or procurement
  • Click manipulation or artificial inflation of engagement metrics
  • Traffic source misrepresentation
  • Use of automated tools to generate fraudulent impressions or clicks
  • Attempts to circumvent IVT detection systems
  • Collusion with third parties to generate artificial traffic

Any publisher found to be engaged in fraudulent activity will be subject to immediate enforcement action, up to and including permanent account termination and forfeiture of all unpaid revenue.

Third-Party Verification

In addition to our proprietary detection systems, LumoVibe Media utilizes independent third-party verification tools to validate traffic quality. These tools provide an additional layer of assurance by cross-referencing traffic data against industry databases and behavioral models.

Third-party verification data may be used as evidence in clawback proceedings and enforcement decisions. Publishers may request access to aggregated verification reports for their traffic through their account manager.

Publisher Traffic Quality Reports

LumoVibe Media provides publishers with periodic traffic quality reports summarizing key metrics and any detected anomalies. These reports include:

  • Overall traffic quality score
  • IVT rate breakdown (GIVT vs. SIVT)
  • Geographic distribution analysis
  • Session behavior metrics
  • Flagged traffic sources (if applicable)

Publishers are encouraged to review these reports regularly and address any identified issues proactively to maintain their account in good standing.

Consequences of Violations

Violations of this Anti-Fraud & IVT Policy are addressed through a graduated enforcement framework. The severity of enforcement action is determined by the nature, scale, and intent of the violation.

Level 1 -- Warning

Written notification identifying the violation and required corrective actions. The publisher is given a defined remediation period to address the issue.

Level 2 -- Account Suspension

Temporary suspension of campaign operations and revenue share payments pending investigation. The publisher's traffic sources are placed under enhanced monitoring.

Level 3 -- Forfeiture & Termination

Permanent account termination with forfeiture of all unpaid revenue share. This action is reserved for confirmed fraudulent activity or repeated policy violations.
